Terms and Conditions
-
Who can participate: Any one over the age of 18 considering they meet the following conditions on this document. For participants under the age of 18 they must be accompanied by their Parent or legal guardian on all of the sessions, if we find that under 18s are not accompanied by an appropriate adult we will have to refuse to allow them to participate by law and unless we can fill the slots we will not be able to refund the trip. By booking the trip you agree that under 18s will be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. On the kayak and canoe trips we advise that anyone under the age of 16 shares a kayak/canoe with someone older as they may struggle to complete the routes without help. If this proves difficult due to your age groups please call us before hand as we may still be able to make it work.
-
Please arrive promptly at the start time of your session, we have added 30 minutes to all of our sessions (for example a 2 hour kayak trip runs for 2.5 hours this is to give us time to get our kit on and fill out the paperwork if necessary while still allowing a full 2 hours for the session). If you are running late please let us know as soon as possible however, we may not be able to wait for you as this can impact the other customers and potentially set back the other sessions in the day. If we have to leave without you we regrettably will not be able to issue a refund.
-
To Cancel or change a booking: as we are a small seasonal business that is completely at the mercy of the weather and sea conditions, short notice cancellations can have a severe impact on the business, as such if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice we will only refund your trip if we are able to fill your spaces. If it is over 48 hours we will refund you 50% (or up to 100% if we can fill your spaces) if it is over 7 days then you will get a full refund regardless. Please give us as much notice as possible if you think you will have to cancel.
-
If we have to cancel: If we have to cancel you will be given a full refund, we will aim to give you as much notice as possible however, as the sea is such a temperamental environment and things can change very suddenly we may have to cancel on very short notice. As previously mentioned we will issue a full refund on your trip but do not accept any other charges you may have accrued such as travel and parking etc. Refunds usually take 3-5 working days however, in some cases it may take longer.
-
Parking: Please ensure that you buy enough time on your parking ticket, as previously mentioned we include the time it takes to get ready in our session times however, we do not include the time it takes to get changed after, you will need to make sure you factor this time in when buying your parking ticket. Sometimes sessions may finish a little later too. with this in mind we recommend an absolute minimum of 30 minutes extra on top of you sessions timing though it would probably be sensible to give yourselves at least an extra hour. The local carparks run on a camera system so you cannot get away with being a bit late. If you use the app to pay please ensure you choose the correct option for the carpark you are using (the field carpark is called "Porthmissen carpark" and the shop Car park is called "Trevone Beach Carpark") although they are on the same app their are different owners so if you choose the wrong one you will get a fine. We do not accept any responsibility for parking fines you may receive if you overstay your ticket or make any other errors leading to a fine.
-
Health: Although we endeavour to be as accessible as possible Kayaking, Canoeing and Coasteering are physical activities and some of our routes particularly from Trevone Bay can be challenging. You need to be reasonably fit and healthy to participate. If you have any health conditions or concerns about your fitness please contact us to discuss this before booking, if we find out about a health condition that may stop you/a member of your group from participating we may not be able to take you out on certain trips, if this is within less than a week of your session we may not be able to offer a refund. Although we can give you advice and answer some questions we are not health professionals so sometimes it may be necessary to get advice from your GP. We will ask participants to fill out a health declaration, please be honest on it as it may be important for your instructor to know.. It is rare that we have to stop someone from coming out but we need to know so we can make any possible arrangements to ensure your safety.
-
Safety: Your instructor will provide you with all relevant safety equipment which may include wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets, you will be given a briefing/demonstration on how to wear these correctly, any equipment must be worn at all times during the session for your safety. If at any point anything has had to be removed (for example; so you can go to the toilet) it must be put back on and checked by an instructor before you continue the activity.
-
On your session: You will be given a safety briefing and basic instruction before setting off on your session. Please abide by any instructions given by your instructor this is for your safety as well as other participants, the instructors, environment and the wildlife that lives here. If you do not listen to the instructions given and/or cause danger to yourself or others the instructor may terminate the session, if this happens you will not be refunded.
-
Wildlife: We often see a variety of wildlife on our trips however, we cannot guarantee this. we also follow strict rule when viewing wildlife to avoid unnecessary disturbance to them.
-
Weather: We constantly monitor the forecasts and assess the conditions to make sure we can keep you safe, before booking please bare in mind that we do still operate when its raining and it can often be quite choppy when on our sea routes and if the instructor deems it safe to operate you may not be offered a refund if you are not happy to continue in these conditions. We will of course cancel sessions if our instructors are not confident they can keep you safe, in these instances you will have the option to either do something else, reschedule or have a full refund.
-

Anyone wishing to take part in an activity operated by Trevone Bay Adventures does so with this understanding. All activities offered can be physically demanding therefore, you should be in reasonably good health & physically fit before participating. It is always advisable to seek medical advice if unsure.
